Comparative research

Canine and humans share many molecular and cellular disease homologies across a wide range of neoplastic, neurological, ophthalmic and dermatological diseases among other areas that are useful in multi-omics or other comparative research areas.

 

Sample types

OMG can collect, process and store:

  • Blood (serum, plasma)
  • Solid tissue biopsies
  • Urine (free catch or via cystocentesis)
  • Saliva and tear film

 

Associated Data

Annotation:  Each veterinary biospecimen can be annotated with corresponding:

  • Patient diagnosis and demographics (age, breed, sex, zip).
  • Relevant medical history (incl. conmeds)
  • Available laboratory data (CBC, chem) and pathology reports.
